Fire Dragon

New artistic pieces celebrating the intersection of tradition and modernity will mark this edition of the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival.

Curated and presented by local artists, these works celebrate the ongoing strength and resiliency of our community despite the obstacles and challenges of the past year.

Activities presented by the Fire Dragon Festival and the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society as part of the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival.

Learn about the history and significance of the Fire Dragon through storytelling, art installations, poetry, fire dragon dance workshops, as well as the all important ritual of inserting incense in the Fire Dragon for good luck and prosperity. You can even volunteer to be one of the dancers to perform at the eye dotting ceremony on September 25!

  • 12:00 PM: Mooncake making demonstration
  • 1:00-5:00 PM: Lantern making with the Still Moon Festival Society
  • 7:00 PM onwards: Fire Dragon eye-dotting ceremony, cultural performances, and lion dances
