Paddles Up! The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Exhibit – NOW CLOSED

Thank you to the thousands of visitors who helped us keep the spirit of dragon boat alive during COVID. It’s now time to bring it back out into the community as we safely come back together. We look forward to seeing you at our 2022 races, events, festivals, and regattas!

Go beyond the boat, and discover dragon boat’s unique journey through the centuries leading up to its modern iteration here in Vancouver. Hear stories from athletes of all backgrounds, and learn about the festival’s cultural heritage. Plus, for the first time in almost 20 years, see the Festival’s unique Legacy Collection of commissioned art and artefacts brought together for public display.

Highlights of the exhibit included:

• The complete collection of every Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival/Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival program or poster from 1989 to  the present for the first time ever!
• Key pieces from the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Society’s Legacy Collection
• The most complete set of medals awarded at the Festival from 1995 onwards, including the first ever Club Crew World Championships medal awarded (Vancouver 1996)
