Thank you for kicking off summer with us on the shores of False Creek in 2025. Despite the downpours, your energy shone through- whether on the water with 222 teams from around the world joining us, on land especially at the TD Main Stage with our friends Lights and Felix Cartal, celebrating our community at our community pavilions, or enjoying the best of our community with our local vendors and largest food truck selection ever (and who can blame you given how tasty they were)! Despite moving our entire Festival with just 3 months of planning, you came out to support us at our new home at Concord Pacific Place- thank you for being there with us.
In 2026, Vancouver will host the world as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup- right in our backyard. Unfortunately, that means that our 2026 edition will be cancelled in order to meet the operational and security parameters of the games being hosted across the street at BC Place. However, that doesn’t mean we’re taking the time off. Just like any great athlete rests before coming back stronger, we’re taking the time to plan the next iteration of our Festival- and to set the stage for you to write your story.
We invite you to join us at Dragon Boat BC’s other events around BC this coming year; visit dragonboatbc.ca/race for more info. And, stay tuned for a special one-time event in 2026 to celebrate summer and start the countdown to June 2027, when we light up False Creek again at the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival.
Greatness takes time. Are you ready?
